Brief
This project involves developing a fully conceptualised charity. From its core mission and audience to its visual and verbal identity, using experimental design methodologies. The goal is to explore how unconventional, research-informed design approaches can shape meaningful, socially impactful branding. Investigate contemporary issues, identify a compelling area of need, and translate your insights into an innovative, cohesive brand identity system.
Process
Poor mental health in teenagers is a huge issue in the UK. After personal experience within the broken mental health system, I decided to create a mental health charity focussed on supporting teenagers and offering a hub for them to be apart of. My main goal was to make the design for a magazine that would be published by the charity.
Noticing that this sector can be unrelatable and some 'fluffing up', I set out to create branding that captured the raw nature of the issue while being informative and relatable to teens.
As a part of research I decided to reach out to the public about their own mental health experiences. They wrote me anonymous letters which I planned to use to shape my understanding and visual identity.
