EdHearn
Ed Hearn is a videographer and editor whose work explores themes of nature, nostalgia, history and human connection, often examining the relationship between technology and the natural world.
Using vintage cameras and camcorders, he creates grainy, lo-fi videos with a home-movie quality. His work focuses on emotional, often abstract storytelling that is open to interpretation. Based in Devon, the region’s rolling landscapes and rich history continue to shape and inspire his practice.
Wanting to create intentional branding, Ed brought me on board to encapsulate his work through a logo and supporting materials. Inspired by his fascinations with nature, history and nostalgia the branding reflects a raw, organic feel with subtle nods to technology - allowing his work to take centre stage.

The mark combines a hand-rendered serif letterform with a textured, organic symbol. The rough, uneven edges and visible grain give it a stamped, worn-in feel - reminiscent of vintage film, archival print, and handmade processes. The intentional imperfections, reinforce authenticity rather than polish.
The symbol echoes natural and mechanical forms at once, sitting somewhere between a sunburst and a shutter. This ambiguity reflects themes of nature, time, and technology, leaving room for interpretation

Stills from Ed's work are used on materials as focal points but supported with custom textured text. Simplicity is at the heart of this brand letting the image and emotion take speak.
